Bukhara is an ancient, truly fabulous city with thousand-year-old monuments that have survived to this day. The historical center of Bukhara is included in the UNESCO list of world cultural heritage. Considering the distance of Bukhara from Tashkent, the excursion involves a flight to Bukhara by plane (flight duration is 1 hour). During the excursion, our guide will introduce you to the most interesting monuments of the ancient city.
Places to visit:
- Samanid Mausoleum (IX-X centuries) – family tomb of Bukhara rulers, the oldest in Central Asia
- Chashma Ayub Mazar (XIV-XIX centuries) – mausoleum – sarcophagus over an ancient sacred spring
- Ark Fortress (VII-XIX centuries) – residence of Bukhara rulers – emirs
- Poi-Kalyan Complex (XI-XVI centuries) – Bukhara’s calling card with Kalyan Minaret (XI century) 47 meters high, with functioning Miri-Arab Madrasah (XVI century), Kalyan Mosque (XV century) with an original multi-domed gallery
- Trading domes (XVI century), where local craftsmen have sold their products since ancient times. And today tourists can buy here magnificent souvenirs and products of folk craftsmen: gold embroidery, carpets, suzani, ceramics, embossing, knives and much more.
- Lyabi-Khauz Complex (16th-17th centuries) - the “heart” of old Bukhara with an ancient pond, Nodir Divanbegi Madrasah (17th century)
- Chor-Minor (18th century) - a small mosque of an original shape with four minarets
- Sitora-i-Mohi Khosa (19th century) - the summer country residence of the last emir of Bukhara. The interior of the palace rooms is richly decorated with magnificent paintings, stucco, wood carving and ganch.
