Khiva—an ancient city-open-air museum
Khiva is one of the most unique cities in Uzbekistan, having fully preserved the atmosphere of the Middle Ages. The city is famous for its historic center, Ichan-Kala—a true open-air museum containing dozens of architectural monuments.

Historical
Khiva was an important trade and cultural center on the Great Silk Road. Due to its location, the city served as a stopover for caravans and a place for the exchange of goods and knowledge.
Unlike many other cities in the region, Khiva has been preserved almost in its original form, making it one of the most authentic historical cities in Central Asia.

This is the most comfortable time of year for walks and excursions. Khiva can be very hot in the summer, and cool in the winter.
